Our Standards of Care – Nanny Applicant Criteria

At Nounou Nannies, we maintain the highest standards when selecting nannies for our families. All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Legal Work Rights in Australia
    All candidates must have valid working rights in Australia.

  • Extensive Nanny Experience
    A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a full-time or consistent part-time nanny.

  • Genuine Passion for Childcare
    A warm, nurturing, and child-focused attitude suited to working with children of all ages.

  • Outstanding References
    Excellent childcare references that demonstrate strong communication, reliability, punctuality, maturity, and emotional intelligence.

  • Long-Term Commitment
    Willingness to commit to a minimum of 12 months for long-term placements.

  • Child Development Knowledge
    Education and/or practical experience in early childhood development and age-appropriate practices, along with a current Paediatric First Aid and CPR Certificate.

  • Household Support
    Willingness to assist with light housekeeping and all child-related duties, including meal prep, tidying, laundry, and homework support.

  • Background Screening
    Ability to pass a comprehensive background and reference check.

  • Professional Presentation
    A well-groomed, polished, and professional appearance.

  • Strong Communication Skills
    Excellent written and verbal English skills, including email proficiency and clear communication.
